Monograph No. 01
MIRAGE
An intimate exploration of masculinity, nature, and human connection through the landscapes of Southern Utah.
A landscape
both unforgiving
and sublime
Mirage is Ryan Frank’s debut monograph — an intimate body of work created within the canyons, rivers, and hidden caves of Southern Utah.
Across heat, silence, stone, and water, six men move through the landscape not as subjects, but as companions shaped by the wilderness around them.
The human form becomes an extension of the terrain itself — carved by light, shadow, texture, and time.
Published here for the first time, Mirage invites viewers to slow down, look closer, and discover what emerges when everything unnecessary falls away.
A landscape
both unforgiving
and sublime
MIRAGE is Ryan Frank's debut monograph—an intimate exploration of the nude male form, shot among the canyons, rivers, and hidden caves of Southern Utah.
Six men venture into this remote terrain and form new bonds as they confront heat, stone, water, and silence. The human form becomes an extension of the landscape itself—carved by light, shadow, and time.
These are exclusive photographs, published here for the first time. Mirage is an invitation to wander farther, look closer, and find what the earth uncovers when it strips everything down to what is essential.
A year of light,
and what it left behind.
From Ryan
Mirage carried me through some of the most awe-inspiring landscapes I have ever encountered, and into moments of honesty, vulnerability, and connection I will never forget.
What began as a photography project slowly became something more personal — a reflection on trust, masculinity, solitude, and our relationship with the natural world.
My hope is that when you open these pages, you feel even a small part of what we found out there.
